Today, on September 29, we hosted a film screening for women interested in environmental issues at the “Eco Centre” office.<\/p>\n

The meeting was held within the framework of the “Women’s Fund” project, the aim of which is to empower women and girls. Therefore, we chose a relevant movie and watched “Taking Root: The Vision of Wangari Maathai”, which tells the story of Wangari Maathai, a Kenyan environmentalist woman, whose tree planting activity, turned into a global environmental movement and made a significant contribution to highlighting the importance of environmental conservation worldwide.<\/p>\n

It was for her contributions to the environment and women’s rights that Maathai became the 2004 Nobel Prize laureate and the first African-American woman to win the Nobel Prize.<\/p>\n

At the beginning of the meeting, we briefly shared with the participants the main details and stages of Maathai’s life, which influenced her work. After watching the film, an interesting discussion was held, the girls shared their individual opinions and discussed the importance of each person’s simple and purposeful action to bring change on a global
