{"id":1473,"date":"2024-02-09T17:31:21","date_gmt":"2024-02-09T13:31:21","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/ecocentre.ge\/news\/eko-centris-organizebit-polivimshi-3-eqskursia-chatarda\/"},"modified":"2024-09-02T16:36:00","modified_gmt":"2024-09-02T12:36:00","slug":"eko-centris-organizebit-polivimshi-3-eqskursia-chatarda","status":"publish","type":"news_post_type","link":"https:\/\/ecocentre.ge\/en\/news\/eko-centris-organizebit-polivimshi-3-eqskursia-chatarda\/","title":{"rendered":"\u201cEco Centre\u201d Organized Three Excursions to \u201cPolyvim LLC\u201d"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-medium wp-image-1213\" src=\"https:\/\/ecocentre.ge\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/02\/\u10de\u10dd\u10da\u10d8\u10d5\u10d8\u10db\u10d8-1-300x200.jpg\" alt=\"poilivimis_turi\" width=\"300\" height=\"200\" srcset=\"https:\/\/ecocentre.ge\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/02\/\u10de\u10dd\u10da\u10d8\u10d5\u10d8\u10db\u10d8-1-300x200.jpg 300w, https:\/\/ecocentre.ge\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/02\/\u10de\u10dd\u10da\u10d8\u10d5\u10d8\u10db\u10d8-1-768x511.jpg 768w, https:\/\/ecocentre.ge\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/02\/\u10de\u10dd\u10da\u10d8\u10d5\u10d8\u10db\u10d8-1.jpg 902w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/>On February 8 and 9, as part of the project \u201cStrengthening the Network of Environmentalists in Kvemo Kartli Region\u201d, \u201cEco Centre\u201d organized three excursions to the plastic waste recycling plant \u201cPolyvim LLC\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>A total of 52 students and teachers from Rustavi&#8217;s 20th school, Bolnisi&#8217;s No. 5 school, and Marneuli&#8217;s Shulaveri and Kasumlo schools participated in the tour.<\/p>\n<p>This year, the plant hosted us with increased production, and we were introduced to two recycling lines.<\/p>\n<p>Specifically, in addition to the existing PET (Polyethylene Terephthalate) recycling line, a second line for recycling Polyethylene (PE) and Polypropylene (PP) has been added.<\/p>\n<p>The new line produces recycled plastic in the form of granules and flakes, which are supplied to the local market and are used to make plastic items again.<\/p>\n<p>Plant representatives detailed the technological process of plastic recycling to the students, explaining how they sort, wash, and what stages the plastic items we bring to the plant go through.<\/p>\n<p>We should also mention that the young people handed over 63 kg of plastic to the plant.<\/p>\n<p>The most memorable for them was the product obtained as a result of recycling &#8211; the so-called sintepon, granules, and flakes.<\/p>\n<p>We believe that by getting acquainted with the process and recycling products on-site, young people once again become convinced of the importance of recycling and reusing items, and will have greater motivation to contribute to this process.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><em>The project is implemented with a grant from the Institute of War and Peace Reporting (IWPR), with the support of the UK Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO).<\/em><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"featured_media":1216,"template":"","class_list":["post-1473","news_post_type","type-news_post_type","status-publish","has-post-thumbnail","hentry"],"acf":[],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v21.2 - https:\/\/yoast.com\/wordpress\/plugins\/seo\/ -->\n<title>\u201cEco Centre\u201d Organized Three Excursions to \u201cPolyvim LLC\u201d &#8226;
