Today, on April 20th<\/sup>, we conducted a training for teachers, which was attended by teachers of various subjects from Rustavi, Gardabani, Lemshveniera, village Vaziani and Tbilisi.<\/p>\n

The training was conducted with the support of the “Women’s Fund Georgia” as part of the “Empowerment of Women Environmentalists and Waste Reduction Campaign\u201d project.<\/p>\n

The training aimed to empower teachers and promote environmental awareness in schools.<\/p>\n

During the training, we discussed issues such as the problem of air pollution in Rustavi, sources of air pollution; we also highlighted the impact of air pollution on human health and shared relevant data with the training participants. In addition, we introduced teachers how to check air quality by using the Atmospheric Air Quality Portal (air.gov.ge) and provided information about air-purifying plants for indoor use.<\/p>\n

Additionally, we discussed the connection between Sustainable Development Goals and air pollution, climate change mitigation, and we also discussed the ways to reduce air pollution at an individual level.<\/p>\n

The second session of the training was devoted to discussing one of the most significant environmental challenges \u2013 plastic pollution and its negative impacts on the environment and human health. We reviewed statistics on plastic waste generation worldwide and in Georgia.<\/p>\n

In the final stage, we discussed methods and practices for becoming eco-friendly \u2013 how to reduce plastic waste and how to minimize the negative impact of plastic on the environment and our health.<\/p>\n

Training participants were awarded certificates.<\/p>\n

We are glad that our training generated great interest on a regional scale, and we hope that with the help of our teacher friends, environmental awareness and responsibility in schools will be further
