Today, on March 21, we met pupils of the public school N7 and in the form of a presentation, we introduced them “Gavigudet” and “Eco Centre” activities.
Within the meeting, we shared with the youth how, when, and for what purpose the civil movement “Gavigudet” was formed. We talked about the importance of environmental advocacy, the challenges, which the movement went through during its existence, and the achievements, we have attained in terms of improving the air quality of the city within the framework of our advocacy campaign.
Pupils saw how the reality was in the industrial area of Rustavi during the years, and for comparison, the condition of today – on an example of a couple of factories, improved condition as a result of rearmament.
Besides that, with the example of the territories planted by us, we talked about the importance of encouraging sustainable urban solutions.
With this meeting, we wanted to encourage the active involvement of youth in the development of the city, and underlined the fact once again, that one person’s idea and activity is often enough for an important step toward desired changes.
We hope that, in the future, we will actively continue collaborating with these young people.
