Accelerating Eco-friendly Development: Raising Awareness and Promoting Sustainable Waste Management

In July 2024  with the support of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Estonia Eco Centre started the new project: Accelerating Eco-friendly Development: Raising Awareness and Promoting Sustainable Waste Management.

The project has two main objectives:

Objective 1: Promoting sustainable waste management practice;

Objective 2: Raising environmental awareness and increasing skills for enhanced civil engagement.

As a result of the project:

1. The number of people engaged in waste separation will be increased and the green cover of Rustavi will be enriched.
2. The network of environmentally aware people, with better communication skills will be enlarged.

Activities implemented in the framework of the project:

1. The operation of the paper waste collection point
2. Training for pupils and students regarding environmental challenges
3. Informational meetings in 5 schools throughout Rustavi
4. Campaign: Paper waste for restoration of the floodplain forest of Rustavi
5. Training on creating visual materials in Canva and the short masterclass on how to use Gmail
6. Birdwatching tour at Rustavi Floodplain Forest
